You can do this, but there are a few things to remember:

1. Don't weld the frame permanently to a drive shaft assembly. If you have any issues with the drive shaft down the road and you've welded the frame to it, you'll have to cut the hardtail off. 

2. Bolt to a swing arm (don't weld)!
